Welcome to URED Douala

    You are on the website of the research team URED (University-Research-Development-Environment) - Douala created in 2001 by Drs Leopold Gustave Lehman (Biologist) and Samuel Honoré Mandengue (Physiologist), both Lecturers in the Department of Biology of Organisms Animals, Faculty of Sciences at the University of Douala, with the participation of staff from various academic institutions and hospitals.

2 - Global Health Catalyst 2018 summit, Harvard Medical School
Participation of Prof. LEHMAN Leopold Gustave at the Global Heath Catalyst 2018 Harvard Medical School in the USA, Boston from May 25 to 26, 2018. The theme of his presentation was "Innovations in biomedical technology for essential healthcare in Cameroon".

3 - Case Management on Snakebite, Scorpion sting and Wound care in Cameroon
It is organized at the BUEA (BONGO SQUARE) City Council two (2) days capacity building on Case Management of snakebite, scorpion sting and wound care in Cameroon.

4 - New article
A study on "Epidemiology of Malaria Using LED Fluorescence Microscopy among Schoolchildren in Douala, Cameroon" has been published.
This study, under the supervision of Pr Léopold LEHMAN, aimed to determine the prevalence of asymptomatic malaria in children using the "CyScope" fluorescence microscope, while highlighting the factors associated with the malaria case.

A study entitled ´Facteurs Prédictifs de Naissance d´un Nouveau-Né Séronégatif Issu d´une Mère Séropositive au VIH à Douala´ has been published.
This study aimed to present the factors that predispose to the transmission of HIV from mother to child in Douala. This study was conducted at the Nylon District Hospital for a period of seven months.
